Think Pink!

Here are the two incredible people who have made the past 25 years possible!

Karena and John continue to be a daily inspiration to me! I feel so fortunate to be able to work so closely with my role models that I have admired since I was a tiny ballerina! As all of you know, spending just a few moments dancing or talking with Karena and John will be sure to brighten your day! Their love for the art of ballet, and the tenderness they show their students create a warm and supportive atmosphere in the studios, which is what makes the Hilton Head Dance School such a memorable part of our lives!

(I love to see pictures of John and Karena dancing together - She just might kill me for posting this though!)

Now to Think Pink...

This is also one of my favorite pictures! This photo is from Pas De Quatre taken in 2007. This was a piece staged for alumni, Alex Scott, Stacey Simmons, McKenzie Carter, and myself. We had a fantastic time performing this piece that was originally choreographed for four prima ballerinas in 1843. The ballerinas performed their solos in age order from youngest to oldest to stop any bickering of who was the best dancer.

Look for more pictures to come later this week and also be sure to find us on Facebook!

Counting Down to Nutcracker,

We have successfully completed the first two weeks of classes at the Hilton Head Dance School! The young ballerinas already have a twinkle in their toes with anticipation for the show and the company members have a twinkle in their hearts as we laugh at how we start hearing The Waltz of the Flowers music in August!

We are so thrilled to be starting the preparations for this year's Nutcracker ! As we count down to the show, we would love to see any old photos you may want to share, or tell us stories of some of your most memorable moments either in the studios or during a performance!

We would love to compile a commemorative album with your stories and photos to share with everyone! Who better to provide the memories of the past 25 years than all of you who have contributed to the rich history of The Hilton Head Dance School!

Look for some photos from my favorite memories soon! Can't wait to see your photos!
Keep that twinkle in your hearts...

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hilton Head Dance School's 25th Anniversary Blog!

We are so excited to have created a place for all who share a common love for the Hilton Head Dance School! Karena and John Carlyle continue to be a shining light for all of us, as well as the many volunteers who have helped along the way! This is an amazing opportunity for all of us to show our gratitude and love to Karena and John and to celebrate the rich history of the past 25 years at Hilton Head Dance School!

We have created this site with the hopes of each of you sharing your many fond memories and photos of your time spent with the Hilton Head Dance School! Also, look forward to information on a HHDS Alumni Reunion to be scheduled during Nutcracker this season! Sure to be an event you will not want to miss!

Gathering old friends together is one of the sweetest parts of life, and we hope you will join us on this dance down memory lane!!
